TRAVEL INFORMATION TO CAMBRIDGE FOR LEGAL ENGLISH STUDENTS
To/From Stansted Airport
Stansted is the nearest of the "London" airports to Cambridge. It is mostly served by flights to and from mainland Europe, Ireland and elsewhere in the UK.
- By bus - There is a regular hourly service from Stansted to Cambridge operated by JetLink (Service No. 797 and 757) and Airbus (Service No. A7). This service departs every hour from Stansted and takes approximately one hour depending on the traffic. The return fare is around £13. You can buy the ticket on the bus. Buy a return ticket as two single tickets are much more expensive.

- By train - There is also a regular train service from London Stansted to Cambridge, which is usually quicker than the bus, taking approximately 30 minutes and is a direct service which runs every hour. The return fare for this journey is £12.50.

To/From Heathrow Airport
Heathrow is the principal "London" airport and one of the busiest in Europe with a wide range of national, European and international services.
- By bus - There is a regular hourly return service from Heathrow to Cambridge operated by JetLink (Services No. 787 and 797). This service departs every hour from both Heathrow Terminal 4 and the Central Bus Station (which serves Terminals 1-3). The journey takes approximately 2.5 hours, depending on traffic. The return fare is around £27.

- By train An option if you wish to travel via central London. From Heathrow use the Heathrow Express train service to access the London Underground railway ("the tube") at Paddington. From Paddington the "Circle Line" (yellow line on tube maps) will take you eastbound to King's Cross mainline railway station, a journey of about 30 minutes. From Kings Cross there are regular direct trains to Cambridge.

Gatwick is the second "London" airport with a wide range of national, European and international services.
- By bus - There is a regular hourly return service from Gatwick to Cambridge operated by JetLink (Service No. 787 or 797). This service departs every hour from Gatwick and takes approximately three and a half hours depending on the traffic. The return fare is around £30.

- By train - Catch the Thames Link Service to Kings Cross Station, London and then change to the West Anglia Train Service direct to Cambridge. This should take approximately 2 hours.

Other airports
Luton Airport, Norwich airport and Southend airport are other regional airports in the East Anglia region. If you use these, a taxi is the best option for travel to Cambridge.
By Ferry
The A14 road connects Cambridge to Harwich, the major east coast ferry port serving the Hook of Holland, Ebsjerg and Hamberg. (See www.a2btravel.com). There is a train service from Harwich to Cambridge (see www.nationalrail.co.uk for a train timetable)
